Belgian playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has announced that he will leave Premier League giants Manchester City at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old had an eventful 10 years at City, winning over a dozen trophies, including a Champions League and six Premier League titles. "That day is here, and you deserve to hear it from me first," De Bruyne said in a social media post addressed to City supporters.

"Football led me to all of you - and to this city. Chasing my dream, not knowing this period would change my life. This city. This club. These people... gave me everything. I had no choice but to give everything back. And guess what - we won everything," De Bruyne posted.

The central midfielder, known for his range of passing and technical abilities, joined City in 2015 from German side Wolfsburg. De Bruyne has not signed up for any club and will be a free agent at the end of the ongoing season.
