A Malayali girl was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the 75th Junior National Basketball Championships held at Ludhiana in Punjab.

Aahana George, representing Gujarat, whose father hails from Kottayam, bagged the MVP trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50,000. Punjab's Mrigendra Singh Dhaliwal won the MVP title in the men's category.

Aahana's Gujarat finished runners-up in the women's category, losing 86-100 to Tamil Nadu. Aahana scored 27 points in the final.

Tamil Nadu also clinched the men's title, defeating Punjab 81-76. Maharashtra and Rajasthan claimed bronze in the women's and men's categories respectively.
