Bineesh Bastin dreams of visiting Burj Khalifa, travelling the world

Actor Bineesh Bastin says most of his travels took place as part of film shooting and for taking part in inaugural functions. Another curious aspect of Bineesh’s journeys is that instead of driving, he enjoys watching the scenes outside from a passenger’s seat.

The actor is familiar to Malayalam film viewers thanks to his dialogue, “Teameaa.” He also earned numerous fans by acting in a Tamil movie with Thalapathy Vijay.

In a chat with Onmanorama, Bineesh reveals his travel experiences. “My journeys for shooting and inaugurations have taken me to all parts of Kerala. In fact, I have visited each of the 14 districts in the state. But, don’t think that I’m somebody who devotes his entire time to attend inaugural functions,” says the actor.

Whenever Bineesh reaches a new place for an event, the organisers show him the interesting spots nearby. “We would never have heard about such beautiful locales before. There are many such pristine, hidden gems in our state that only the local people have knowledge about,” points out the celebrity.

Memorable occasions

There are several places that interested Bineesh, but some among them would remain etched in his memories forever. “One such scenic spot is Illikkal Kallu, near Erattupetta. It has been the location of several movies, but the beauty of Illikkal Kallu can be enjoyed best only by visiting the place,” he says.

The actor had travelled to Erattupetta to attend an inaugural event and the hosts had suggested a trip to Illikkal Kallu.

Another journey that bowled over Bineesh was Pulleppara, near Thodupuzha. “A friend had told me about this spot and took me there. We reached Pulleppara during the early hours and the scenery was indescribable. In fact, it was a heavenly experience. I felt as if the sky had come down to the earth and there was a sea of clouds all around,” he explains.

Yet another favourite destination of Bineesh is Ramakkalmedu. “A trek up the hill would greet you with a gentle, refreshing breeze,” he informs.

The actor also loved the journey to Pooppara. “A mist prevails there all the time. When the fog intensifies you cannot even see a person right next to you,” he says.

Bineesh enjoyed the visit to Garudanpara too.

‘Team trips’

Rather than travelling alone, the actor relishes ‘team journeys.’ “I love the company of people while travelling. Moreover, if somebody else is in the driver’s seat, it would be great. I can then occupy a passenger’s seat and enjoy the passing scenes outside the vehicle,” says Bineesh.

The celebrity has travelled widely in Tamil Nadu, Bengaluru and Delhi. He also visited Ramoji Film City. However, Bineesh feels his home state of Kerala is the most beautiful. “My friends are my biggest wealth and they are present everywhere in Kerala. It is with them that I have set out on my happiest journeys,” says Bineesh.

The actor, however, is yet to travel abroad.

Dream journey

Bineesh says he has several dream destinations. “Who doesn’t love to travel around the world?” he asks.

Even then, the actor says Dubai would be the destination of his first foreign trip. “I felt an affection for Dubai after hearing the experiences of many of my friends who had gone there. There is another big reason for choosing Dubai for my first journey abroad; it is to visit Burj Khalifa. It is my dream to reach the top of the tower and experience a panoramic view of the world. Afterwards, I would travel around the world,” quips Bineesh.
