This area on the banks of the Chalakudy river is covered with thick forest and the only signs of human habitation are some isolated tribal hamlets.
Numerous photo opportunities appear before travellers along this route, which attracts visitors during all seasons. It has been suggested that in case it is promoted properly, the path has the potential to be considered among the top tourism corridors in the world.

Vehicles are allowed on the Vazhachal-Malakkappara stretch only from 6 am to 6 pm. As the forest is teeming with wildlife, drive cautiously.
