Top 25 Asian destinations: Four Indian cities make the cut

Mumbai: Four Indian destinations including Goa and New Delhi, have featured in the top 25 Asia list of TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice awards.

India takes the second spot in the Asia list with four winning destinations. Thailand leads with five wins. The four Indian cities that featured in the top 25 list in Asia are Goa (11), New Delhi (13), Jaipur (18) in Rajasthan and Agra (19) in Uttar Pradesh, according to the Travelers' Choice Awards Asia list.

"The Travelers' Choice Destinations awards this year includes a great mix of popular destinations as well as lesser known cities," TripAdvisor India manager Nikhil Ganju said.

Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions in destinations worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period, as well as traveler booking interest on TripAdvisor.

Bali in Indonesia ranked No.1 in the Asia list followed by Siem Reap in Cambodia, Phuket in Thailand, Hoi An in Vietnam, Kathmandu in Nepal, Hanoi in Vietnam, Ko Samui in Thailand, Bangkok in Thailand, Lombok in Indonesia and Tokyo in Japan.

Meanwhile, no India destination featured in the top 10 Travelers' Choice Destinations in the world list.

Bali continued to awe the world by being number one destination in the list followed by London (UK), Paris (France), Rome (Italy), New York City (US), Crete in Greece, Barcelona in Spain, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Prague in Czech Republic and Phuket in Thailand.

TripAdvisor is a global travel site offering advice from millions of travelers, with 465 million reviews and opinions covering 7 million accommodations, restaurants and attractions.
