Mattupetty gets one more boat

There is some good news for tourists planning to do boating at Mattupetty, which is known for its dam and lake.

The District Tourism Promotion Council has made available an additional boat with a seating capacity of 10 people, making life easier for tourists who have to wait quite long for their turn after buying a ticket for boating.

The slowspeed boat can accommodate 10 people at a time and was brought from Munnar.

The number of tourists at Mattupetty had gone up considerably and subsequently the wait had become longer and painful for leisure travellers.

The DTPC has five boats and hydel tourism has seven speed boats, and they jointly manage two family boats here. The additional new boat will ensure that tourists won't have to spend too much time waiting for their turn. Tourists will have to shell out Rs1,000 for half-an-hour trip in the 10-seater boat.
