Air India, Jet Airways allow passengers to carry TV sets for free from Oman to India

Muscat: With the vacation season in the offing, Air India (AI) and Jet Airways have decided not to charge extra fee from passengers carrying television sets to Indian sectors. Passengers carrying television sets up to 48" will be exempted from paying the extra charges, according to the airliners.

The offer started off on November 1, which also marks the beginning of the tourism season to most of the Indian destinations. The offer will be on till further notice.

To get this offer:

The television sets must be in its original packing.

The package will be considered part of the free checked-in baggage.

If the total weight of baggage exceeds the limit, additional charges will be calculated per kg.

The new offer will help passengers save up to Omani Riyal 20. However, the duty to be paid at Indian airports will continue.
