Muscat: A first test flight will take off from from the newly constructed terminal of Muscat International Airport (MIA) on December 23.
The MIA has started public trials to assess the comfort and quality of the new terminal, said minister for transport and communications Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Salem Al-Futaisi.
The inauguration date will be fixed after gathering feedback from those participating in the trials, Al-Futaisi said while addressing the Airports Exchange Forum and Exhibition conducted by Airports Council International (ACI).
Over 13,000 people have already registered for the 'Join the Trials' program being conducted by the MIA. The authorities expect the number of volunteers to go up to 17,000.
