No bar on tourists riding to hotels and resorts during Sunday lockdown

Kochi: The tourism department informed that tourists can travel to hotels and resorts on Sunday, even though the government has announced a total lockdown. They could show the booking documents or bills in case they are stopped by the authorities or patrolling units. However, the tourists aren’t allowed to roam around or go out after they check into the hotel/resort.

The resorts and hotels function in a bio bubble, creating a safe environment for the guests and the employees. It is mandatory that both the employees and the guests should be fully vaccinated. Moreover, everyone should strictly follow the pandemic protocols including wearing masks, using hand sanitizers and maintaining physical distance.

“People can travel in vehicles to tourism centres or back to their homes from tourist destinations on Sundays. They could show the booking documents if their vehicle is stopped by the patrolling units,” said VP Joy, Chief Secretary.
