Kottayam – Kollam passenger train to resume from October 8

Kochi: More passenger trains would resume services from October 7 and 8. Meanwhile, Punalur – Thurvananthapuram, Kottayam – Kollam, Kollam – Thiruvananthapuram and Thirvananthapuram – Nagercoil passenger train services too would start its service.

This is following a discussion between the railways and the state government. These passenger trains would run as express specials in which the passengers do not require reservation.

Even though the ticket fare would be that of express trains, passengers can avail season tickets too. Moreover, the passengers could purchase tickets directly from the ticket counters at the railway stations.

The Kottayam – Kollam service that begins on October 8 starts from Kottayam at 5.30 am and reaches the destination at 7.50 am. Meanwhile, the authorities said that Ernakulam – Guruvayur and Ernakulam – Alappuzha passenger trains and Managaluru – Chennai Egmore express would resume soon. Palakkad – Ernakulam and Palakkad Thiruchendur trains and Kanyakumari – Pune Jayanti express are yet to begin their services.
