Mohanlal called the Dadasaheb Phalke Award one of the biggest achievements of his nearly 50-year career.
He said he feels honoured to join the ranks of cinema legends who have previously received the award.
Mohanlal remembered everyone who supported him throughout his 48-year-long journey, including those no longer with him.
He received the news via a call from the Prime Minister’s office and described it as beyond his dreams.
Mohanlal emphasized honesty in work, collaborating with good people, and viewing good roles as a matter of luck rather than personal desire.
He highlighted the award’s significance as the highest recognition in Indian cinema and noted he is only the second Malayali actor to receive it.
Mohanlal credited Malayalam cinema for shaping his career and shared the honour with everyone who contributed to his journey, including acknowledging his mother’s blessings.
