Miss World 2024: Beauty with a purpose
Miss Czech Republic Krystyna Pyszkova has been crowned as the new Miss World at the 71st Miss World Competition held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

Former Miss World Karolina Bielawska crowned Pyszkova, who is the second Miss World from Czech Republic after 2006 pageant winner Tatana Kucharova.

Miss Lebanon Yasmina Zaytoun has been named the first runner-up at the Miss World pageant which was hosted by India after a hiatus of 28 years.

Mumbai-born Karnataka-origin Sini Shetty, who was crowned Femina Miss India World in 2022, entered the group of eight finalists of the competition. However, she could not make it to the top four.

Contestants from as many as 112 countries participated in the event embellished grand musical and cultural programmes.
