Cholera is a bacterial infection that causes severe diarrhoea and dehydration.

It spreads through contaminated water or food, particularly in areas with poor sanitation.

To stay safe, drink boiled and cooled water, avoid stale, uncovered food, wash veggies and fruits before constumption and maintain strict personal hygiene.

Oral rehydration solutions (ORS) help treat dehydration caused by cholera. Antibiotics, zinc supplements and a nutritious diet are also incorporated into the treatment.
