This year's Nehru Trophy Boat Race will be held on August 30, Saturday.
The venue, as always, is the mighty Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha district.
Including 21 snake boats, 71 boats are taking part in the event this year.
Those interested in booking tickets can do so via the Nehru Trophy Boat Race Society's official website, through KSRTC's WhatsApp number 9846475874 and via budget tourism cells at KSRTC district depots.
Tickets can also be bought from all major governemnt offices in Ernakulam, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Alappuzha.
Those booking online should collect physical tickets from respective bank counters at the District Tourist Information Centre near the KSRTC Alappuzha bus station.
The event is organised in accordance with green protocol. Single-use plastic items like water bottles and food wrappers are restricted at the venue and adjacent areas.
Those who have to use single-use plastics will have to pay a Rs 20 usage fee, which will be reimbursed upon depositing the items back.
On August 30, the 100 metres around the event venue will be a red zone from 6 am to 8 pm.
Drone cameras (except officially permitted ones) and other boats won't be allowed in the area till the event ends.
