The Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee is considering banning non-Hindus from the 49 temples under its control.
The Uttarakhand govt is also considering banning non-Hindus from 105 ghats across Haridwar.
They plan to declare Haridwar and Rishikesh as 'sanatan pavitra shehar' (holy cities).
Badrinath and Kedarnath are popular destinations for tourists, celebrities, and devotees alike.
BKTC Chairman Hemant Dwivedi said that temples are not meant for tourists and the move aims to protect faith and purity.
