Kerala's Kumbalangi’s kavaru season has just begun and will go on for the next few months.
The kavaru or bioluminescence became a sought after experience ever since the Malayalam movie 'Kumbalangi Nights' released.
The electric-blue bioluminescence emitted by organisms in backwaters becomes visible when the water is disturbed late at night.
Mundamveli, Chellanam, Anjilithara, Kallanchery, Attathadom, Puthuvype... there are many spots around Kumbalangi where the kavaru effect can be experienced.
Check it out late in the night, where light pollution is minimal.
