PM Modi inaugurated India's fastest Metro service, Meerut Metro, today in UP.
Its operational speed is 120 kmph. The maximum operational speed of the Kochi and Bengaluru metros is 80 kmph.
It can cover its entire stretch from Meerut South to Modipuram (23 km) in 30 minutes, including all 12 scheduled halts.
The PM inaugurated the service between Meerut South and Modipuram.
The metro will run on the same infrastructure as the Namo Bharat system.
It's the first such transportation arrangement in India.
