The Bihar Museum in Patna has been ranked 9th globally in the World's 100 Best Museums 2026 list.
Its rank is higher than Paris' Louvre and New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The 13-acre museum houses Bihar's history from early civilisations till 1764.
Its key treasures include the Mauryan-era life-size Didarganj Yakshi sculpture, a Kushan-period slab depicting the Birth of the Buddha, rare manuscripts, coins and more.
