BMW 3 Series - racing is in it's genes

In James Bond movies, M is the codename of Bond's chief, who controls the super-spy during his outings. In the world of cars, M means Motor Sport. If you spot an M badge, be sure that the car has a motor sport lineage. BMW 3 series has that DNA in good measure, of course!

Performance

7.2 seconds is all that the car needs to attain 100 kms/hr from standstill. The 190 BHP engine and the cabin that resembles a cockpit adds to the adrenalin surge that comes as you stomp the accelerator pedal. In addition to the sporty look, the M logo on the fenders and the steering transforms your drive from mundane to exhilarating.

BMW history

BMW made its entry into the markets when Mercedes was reigning without much competition. The German peer offered much more in terms or driving pleasure and luxury than what Mercs had to offer. Driving pleasure is the hallmark of the Seven Series and the Three Series.

Design

Combine style, premium and branding and you get Three Series. Traditional chromium kidney grill, the aristocratic BMW logo, xenon headlamps, headlamp washing system and 18-inch wheels all contribute to the sleekness of the vehicle.

iDrive

For the past decade, BMW cars distinguished themselves from similar-priced cars with iDrive, which is a small computer; a compute that controls AC, GPS, phone, emergency communications, side sensors and park assist systems in the car. The driver can set personal settings using iDrive. For example, if you ask iDrive to beep a warning if the car goes above 100 km / hr, it would do so.

Sporty

More than luxury, the car has a sporty feel. Black and beige finish, walnut wood panelling and climatronic AC controls add to luxury. There are lots of space on the dashboard and central console.

The leather seats of the car reiterate the saying that 'if Japanese cars are made to commute to the office, German cars are designed to be lived in.' Front seats have electronic controls. There is ample leg, head and shoulder room in the car.

Luxury is extended with a four-channel app, six loud speakers, sub woofer, four tweeters, automatic sound control, steering mounted controls, sliding roof, electronic sub blinds in the back and six air bags. There is also a heads-up display.

Driving thrill

Three Series Sport advances driving thrill, which is a USP of BMW, to the next level. The eight-speed automatic offers auto start stop, brake energy regeneration, 50:50 weigh distribution and so on. Performance and fuel efficiency have been enhanced in the model. Control at high speeds is especially noticeable.

The car comes in Eco Pro, Comfort, Sport, and Sport Plus variants.
