Renowned filmmaker P. Padmarajan's son Anandapadmanabhan has come up with yet another script set in the backdrop of lush green country side. The movie titled Kaattu (wind) surrounds life in a village. The movie directed by new age filmmaker Arun Kumar Aravind has completed its 41-day filming schedule. Editing and other post production works of the film are in progress and it is expected to hit the theaters in July.

The theme of the film had dawned upon Andandapadmanabhan over a decade ago. He had discussed it with his friend and actor Murali Gopy. Recently, Murali Gopy reminded Anandapadmanabhan about the same story. Wondering the subject was still fresh in the memory, even after 15 years, the duo felt it was worth making a film on it.

Arunkumar Aravind came forward to direct and produce the film. Kattu is inspired by one of the stories of Anandanpadmanabhan's father P. Padmarajan, but the story is entirely his own.

Asif Ali is the protagonist of the film, which has Murali Gopy in a prominent role. Varalakshmi Sarathkumar plays the female lead. Besides, a number of characters appear in the movie reminding rustic life. The main course of events are beset in a place called Onattukara, which Padmarajan had popularized through his stories. The film is also imbued with the local slang.

Anandapadmanabhan, who made a mark in the literary world through his stories, had penned his first script for the film August Club. The movie, starring Rima Kallingal, Murali Gopy, Thilakan and Praveen Anidil, was directed by K.B. Venu.
