Even as prime minister Narendra Modi dedicated Kochi Metro to the nation on Saturday, the multi-modal transport system will now serve as the background for a movie. Actress Rima Kallingal will be the protagonist while the role of E. Sreedharan will be essayed by a mega star in Malayalam.
The story revolves around P.K. Lalitha, a salesgirl from Thripunithura, who is a fan of the 'metro man' and her efforts to meet him. The movie narrates the story of Kochi city as well as the life of Lalitha. The official announcement of the movie is expected on Saturday, the day of inauguration of Kochi Metro.

The film Arabikkadalinte Rani: the metro woman is directed by M. Padmakumar and the script writer Suresh Babu. The story, screenplay and dialogues are jointly written by S. Suresh Babu and M.U. Pradeep.
The cinematography is by Madhu Neelakandan, editing by Vinod Sukumaran, and art direction by Manu Jagath.
Anoop Menon, Arun Narayan, Santhosh Keezhaatur, Alencier, Sheelu Abraham, Srinda, among others, don major roles. Aimed as a Christmas release, the film is produced by V.G. Films International.
