Award in the time of controversy: Kavya Madhavan nominated for top honor at IFFM

After making headlines for all the wrong reasons, it seems actress Kavya Madhavan and family finally have something to cheer about. The actress has managed to find a spot in the list of nominees for the Best Actor (Female) award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017.

Kavya was nominated for her performance in Pinneyum, directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

She’ll be competing against a slew of A-listers, including Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan and Konkona Sen Sharma.

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is scheduled from August 10 to August 22.
