Actor-director Soubin Shahir has made his engagement with Jamia public by announcing it on social media. The couple will tie the knot soon.
Soubin wrote 'engaged' along with a picture of Jamia Zaheer and himself on an Instagram post. Jamia is a native of Kozhikode. She grew up in Dubai and did her schooling there. She was employed with Shobha group for some time.
Soubin began his career in films as an assistant director and later went on to prove his mettle as a comedy and character actor.
With the powerful film Parava released this year, Soubin has established himself as a director of a merit. The film which was scripted by Muneer Ali and Soubin himself is one of the best films released this year.
However it his role as the PT master in the blockbuster film Premam that had endeared him to the Malayali audience on a big scale.
Soubin entered Malayalam filmdom as an assistant director in the 2003 Mammootty-starrer Chronic Bachelor directed by Siddique. He had also worked as an associate of Fazil, Siddique, Rafi Mecartin, P. Sukumar, Rajiv Ravi and Amal Neerad.
