Actor Unni Mukundan, who is known for his philanthropic gestures, has pledged to donate his eyes as part of his new film’s launch.
At a function organized at Wyte Fort hotel in Ernakulam on Monday, Mukundan formally inaugurated the film Chanakya Thantram by signing a consent letter for eye donation.
The young actor will be appearing as a shrewd schemer in the film modeled on the life of the epic strategist, philosopher and economist Chanakya in the court of emperor Chandragupta Maurya.
The action thriller is directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam, who's known for hits like Aadupuliyattam, Achayans, etc. Actor-script writer Anoop Menon will be appearing in a prominent role in the film. Dinesh Pallath, who penned the script of Aadupuliyattam, which had its Tamil and Telugu versions, is the scriptwriter for this film as well.
The cinematography of Chanakya Thantram is handled by Pradeep Nair. Shaan Rahman has composed music for the songs penned by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri.
Sshivada, Shruthi Ramachandran, Saikumar, Sampath, Jayan Cherthala, Ramesh Pisharody, Hareesh Kanaaran and Dharmajan Bolgatty among others line up for the ensemble star cast.
