Ever since the release of Pranav Mohanlal’s debut movie Aadhi, director Major Ravi has been a victim of the online trolls.
But those who make fun of the film maker may not have noticed the video in which Major Ravi is seen talking about the incredibly talented Pranav Mohanlal.
Speaking to Manoramaonline in the programme 'I Me Myself' three years ago, Major Ravi had predicted that Pranav would become an amazing actor.
“Pranav and my son Arjun are friends since childhood. He used to visit and stay at our house, and would even share many of his thoughts with us. Then one day Rajesh Amanakara came up with the story of Punarjani and said that he wished to make the movie with Pranav,” said Major Ravi.
The Keerthi Chakra director said that he had already told the story to Mohanlal and his wife Suchitra and that Pranav agreed to do the movie as soon as he too heard the story.
The movie was shot in Pattambi, Major Ravi’s home town, where Pranav stayed with the director and his family for ten days during the filming.
Ravi said, “Pranav won the state award for the movie. It would be right to say that Pranav whom I saw on the sets was Mohanlal’s gene rather than his son. Pranav had very little knowledge of Malayalam, but he used to repeat the dialogues after listening to it just once. Appu would grasp well what we say and enact it in his own unique way.”
In the interview Major Ravi confessed that he wished to make another movie with Pranav in the lead. He added that Pranav was a unique personality and would love to travel always.
“Pranav used to say that he would commit his first movie with me. But I don’t know when it will happen. But I am telling you he is a fantastic actor...a good human being. Pranav shold be in this industry as an actor. Now he is working with Jeethu (director Jeethu Joseph). Jeethu will say whether he wants be a director. But if you ask me I want him to become an actor. That's what is Pranav Mohanlal to me,” Major Ravi had said.
