Stunt director recalls daring scenes in Karthi-starrer

Renowned stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan was the man behind those thrilling action sequences of the movie Theeran Adhikaram Ondru.

Tamil movie Theeran Adhikaram Ondru, starring Karthi in the lead role, set the cash registers ring at the box office last year. The realistic fight sequences were a prominent feature of this crime thriller, directed by H Vinoth.

Renowned stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan was the man behind those thrilling action sequences. In an interview recently, Dhilip revealed how he handled the dangerous stunts even by putting his life at stake. He said, “The scene in which Karthi is seen rising from the sand was the first one that we shot in this fight sequence. He might have run at least 300 km for this movie. He is a thorough professional who looks for perfection in his movies.”

Dhilip talked about the famous stunt scene in Theeran which was shot between two buses running parallel to each other. In a behind the scenes video, the stunt master himself is seen doing the risky and dangerous scene.

“Both the bus drivers had to drive at the same speed. Everything is a matter of trust. That scene looked so realistic and it was the result of our teamwork. We shot the climax at a deserted place with a spooky name, Ghost Village. Nobody lives within 50 km of this village which is infested with poisonous snakes and scorpions. It was extremely hot during daytime but would be chilly at nights. All the fighters fought hard against all these odds to film the movie. So it is to them that I dedicate the awards that I got for Theeran,” said Dhilip Subbarayan.
