It is a serene at-home affair as Malayalam actor 'Guinness' Pakru's daughter Deepthakeerthi makes her screen debut in a short Vishu video titled 'Ente Vishu'. It features the artist's Vishu celebration with family. The nine-year old is seen arranging the 'Vishu Kani' (the auspicious first sight of the new year) at her home in an ethnic costume. The video is set to the mild-dawn lighting and the Kanikanum Neram song plays in the background.
Deepthakeerthi accompanies her father Pakru by covering his eyes before revealing the Kani to him. A proud Pakru told Onmanorama that he barely knew that his daughter nurtured an actor in her. “We are absolutely stunned by her expressions and mannerisms in the video. It appears like she does not even care about the camera. Though she has been doing cinematic dance and painting, it is the first time she is in front of a video camera,” he said.
The video was ideated and shot by Saleesh Gopal, a photographer friend of Guinness Pakru. Saleesh said he wanted to do a small feature video with Deepthakeerthi for her innocent looks and graceful expressions. Deepthakeerthi will start her class 4 in the new academic year.
“I wanted to capture my daughter's Vishu. I can do that only when she stays little. Festivals are nothing but memories. Create good memories and cherish them for the rest of your lives,” the actor said.
When asked about Deepthakeerthi's plans to try her hand at cinema, Pakru said he would stand behind all her passions like any father does.
Pakru's wife, Gayathri Mohan, also makes a short appearance in the video. 'Ente Vishu' was conceptualised by Manoj Vijayaraj and edited by Shyam KS.
