Panel to review subsidy for Malayalam movies

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala government's department of cultural affairs has appointed a seven-member committee as part of its initiative to increase the subsidy for Malayalam movies.

Currently, movies produced at Chitranjali studio here are given a subsidy of Rs 5 lakh, but the filmmakers point out that this amount is insufficient considering the high production cost. Considering this, the Kerala Film Development Corporation constituted a committee with Managing Director Deepa D Nair as its convener.

Director Shaji N Karun, Film Development Corporation Chairman Lenin Rajendran, director Dr.Biju, editor B Ajith and representatives of the finance and legal department constitute the committee.
