While all eyes are on Kerala State Film Awards 2016, only a few movies have made it to the final round of screening.

Also in the race are Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Oppam, Guppy, Kismath, Oru Muthassi Gadha, Annmariya Kalippilannu and Jomonte Suvisheshangal.

Maheshinte Prathikaaram is locked in a fight with Pulimurugan and Kammattipaadam to bag the honor for the most popular and artistic movie of the year.

Mohanlal has three of his movies vying for the awards while Mammootty’s only chance is White. Kavya Madhavan, Rima Kallingal and Surabhi are in the race to be the best actress.

Jury members watched the movies at the Kinfra Film and Video Park at Kazhakkoottam. The new rules allow jury members to watch the entries in three groups but they watched all the movies together.

After each movie, they deliberated on whether to let it proceed to the next round. Even after dismissing several movies, the jury went through them again to spot individual performances in them.

The winners will be announced at 5 pm on Tuesday.
