TP Madhavan forced to play a loner in real life

T P Madhavan is now an inmate of Gandhi Bhavan in Pathanapuram

T P Madhavan, who has essayed varied roles in Malayalam films for four decades, is now an inmate of Gandhi Bhavan in Pathanapuram. Shunned by relatives and friends, the talented actor is happy in the company of his friends, a few fans and inmates of Gandhi Bhavan.

TP Madhavan collapsed at an Ashram in Haridwar on October 23. While nobody came to meet him, he pulled on with life with financial assistance from his sister in the US and help from AMMA. He used to live in a small room in 'Grama Lodge' at Thampanoor. When he came back from Haridwar, he went straight to his room.

While he was preparing to leave to Haridwar once again, his friend and serial director, Prasad Nooranad, prevailed upon him to join Gandhi Bhavan. He is happy now and seems to be enjoying the environment in the facility.

While he was desirous to act, no film producers came to him with any offers. His friends also did not come to meet him when he was alone in life. He has been estranged from his wife and kids for the past 30 years.

Prasad said that TP Madhavan wanted to spend the rest of his life in Haridwar and requested him to book him a ticket to Haridwar. However, his health was in a very bad shape and his friends, including Prasad, managed to get him change his decision. He said he wanted to live in an AC room for some time. After that wish was fulfilled, he moved to Gandhi Bhavan in Pathanapuram, where he was warmly welcomed and revered.

T P Madhavan now has a room in the facility where there are about 1500 inmates. A doctor takes care of his health. MLA Ganesh Kumar and his sister had also come to meet him.
