Guess the list of celebrities who have embraced Hinduism is going to get bigger and bigger. The next in the list might be our very own Leonardo Dicaprio. Well, Leo Diwakaran, perhaps? Yes, you heard it right.
Hollywood actor Leonardo Di Caprio was recently spotted wearing a traditional red thread (charadu) - which is believed to be sacred as per Hindu beliefs. As per the Hindu culture, the charadu is tied by a priest on the wrists of all those attending a special pooja.
According to reports, at an event for The Revenant, strictly for Oscar voters, at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood, Leo was spotted wearing the red string on his wrist. “It looked like it was a kabbala bracelet,” says a source. However, DiCaprio didn’t talk about his new arm candy, but did tell the crowd that the making of his latest film was so full of surprises.
However, another source tells that the string is actually a bracelet he picked up at Angkor Wat in Cambodia when he visited his family and best friend Lukas Haas in November.
The bracelets, popular with tourists, are given by monks in return for a donation and are said to bring good luck.
Well, who knows if this might help him to get the Oscars. Since he is already everyone's favorite, hope every bit helps him to!
