'Cappuccino' of new-gen youth | Movie review

Poster of the movie

Cappuccino from debutant director Noushad can be put under the genre of romantic comedy. The film unveils the story of a bunch of youngsters who run an ad agency named Chappa. The film is filled with fun and frolic and tows the line of the contemporary new-generation life.

Love happens in the life of the protagonist (Aneesh G Menon) quite unwittingly. As the romance spikes, the hero receives a photo which is said to be that of the lover and with that begins the troubles and tribulations of the hero and his cronies.

The film which chugs ahead with comedy and romance till the interval veers to an exhilarating terrain after that. It is the character of Sreeji who diverts the course of the narrative.

The film is also a testimony of how some of our frivolous acts can upend the lives of others.

All the actors showcase a good performance. Yet, there is a lagging at several places and rather than a cinema, Cappuccino renders the feel of an ad film.

The songs penned by Rafeeq Ahmed, Venu V Desam, Haseena Kanam are composed by Hisham Abdul Wahab.

A fragile script and lag at places have marred the flow of the story. Though the life of the youth and their whims and follies have been comically exploited poor editing and unwarranted scenes hinder its course to scale up a certain level.

Aneesh G. Menon, Anwar Sherif, Natasha and Anitha don the role of lead characters in the film. Dharmajan, Hareesh Perumanna, Vineeth Mohan, Sunil Sugatha, Manoj Guinness, among others also appear on prominent roles.
