Rapper Kanye West amazed by Mata Amritanandamayi's hugging feat

Controversial American rapper Kanye West, who returned to tweeting after a hiatus, made his renewed presence on Twitter with a bang. His first tweet after coming back to the popular online platform conveyed support to American President Donald Trump and the second was about slavery.

Later, he tweeted about Indian spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, who is renowned as “Amma”, meaning "mother".

The rapper first tweeted “sometimes we all need hugs” and followed it up with a photograph of Amma captioned “Amma Mata had given over 32 million hugs.”

The popular Hindu spiritual leader is known as the 'hugging saint' as she often hugs devotees.

Earlier in an interview Amritanadamayi said “ People used to come and tell their troubles. They would cry and I would wipe their tears. When they feel weeping into my lap, I used to hug them. Then the next person too wanted it... And so the habit picked up.”
