Dr Biju's 'Valiya Chirakula Pakshikal' to be screened today

Panaji: Malayalam film Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal directed by Dr. Biju will be screened on the sixth day of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI)-2015 here on Wednesday. As many as 46 films are awaiting the audience on Day 6.

"Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal" imprints the ill-fate of the victims of Endosulphan spraying in various parts of Kasaragod district in Kerala through the eyes of a photographer. Kunchacko Boban plays the lead while the cast include Nedumudi Venu, Suraj Venjaramood, James Bradford, Salim Kumar, Prakash Bare and Anumol. Cinematography is by M.J. Radhakrishnan.

Some of the other films to be looked out for on Wednesday include Moor, by Jamshed Mahmood Raza, which is Pakistan's official entry for Oscars, Anna Muylaert's Brazilian film The second mother, Out of nature, a Norwegian film by Marte Vold and Ole Giaever and The brand new testament by Jaco Van Dormael.

Nancy Bishop, casting director from US, will conduct a workshop on casting for directors and producers in the afternoon.

India's official entry for Oscars Court was screened before a houseful audience on Tuesday.
