Tagore theater sees heavy rush for ‘The Net’, seat for minister Balan causes chaos

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala minister for cinema A.K. Balan on Thursday Balan on Thursday had to witness the frenzy of the IFFK crowd at Tagore theater to watch the screening of Kim Ki-duk film The Net. By the time he reached the venue, the seat reserved for him was occupied.

The film, which was scheduled to screen at 2.15 pm at the main venue of the 21st IFFK, had two houseful screenings earlier. The minister reached the theater at 2pm. However, hundreds of delegates were waiting in front of the theater an hour before the showtime.

Balan, who arrived before time, also visited the organizing committee office before he reached the theater. At the end, the organizing committee members made special arrangements for him to see the film. Speaking to media after the screening, the minister praised Kim Ki-duk for his filmmaking craft.
