Mahesh Narayan's 'Take Off' honored at IFFK

'Take Off' was also chosen for the festival in Malayalam Cinema Today category.

Thiruvananthapuram: Mahesh Narayan’s directorial debut Take Off was on Sunday honored at the 22nd edition of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).

Parvathy, who received the Golden Peacock award and Mahesh Narayan, who received the Special Jury Award, were honored at the festival. Take Off was also chosen for the festival in Malayalam Cinema Today category.

Chalachitra Academy chairman and festival director Kamal, artistic director of the festival and vice-person of Chalachitra Academy Bina Paul, Take Off ’s scriptwriter P.V. Shaji Kumar and film director Sibi Malayil were also present at the function here at Kairali theater.

Parvathy essayed the role of Sameera in the movie and made the character a memorable one with her stunning performance. It was for the first time a Malayalam actress was winning it big at IFFI. Take Off focuses on the crisis in Iraq during 2014 that brought home many nurses who were employed there.
