Kottayam: Chandy Oommen, son of Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who is facing corruption allegations in connection with the solar scam has come out defending himself quoting Mahathma Gandhi.
“They may torture my body, break my bones, even kill me. Then they will have my dead body, but not my obedience," - Mahatma Gandhi: Chandy Oommen wrote on Facebook on Monday.
He further said he drew inspiration from these words over the last three days when wild allegations were leveled against him.

“Despite deep provocation and many calls of deep concern from friends, associates and well wishers, I have chosen to remain silent. I believe that my silence is the perfect response to the wild statements that do not even deserve a denial from my end. My well wishers are aware that I have or never had any interest in solar or any other business concern.
“There is a due process of law that is presently underway and all of us have to respect the same. Attempts by individuals with questionable character, to undermine its sanctity requires a response which is enshrined within the process of law.
“Truth always stands the test of time and it will be no different this time!,” he concluded his post.
The FB post is a reaction to solar scam accused Saritha S. Nair's allegations that Oommen Chandy had asked her to form a solar panel company with his son as its director.
Saritha also alleged that Chandy Oommen had relation with another woman involved in the scam.
