Major general Annakutty Babu, who was appointed as the additional director general of Military Nursing Service, took charge on May 1st.
"The Nursing Service officers play a pivotal role in the care of the sick and injured soldiers and their families along with medical corps in Tri-Services," Annakutty said after taking charge.
Annakutty hails from Koothattukulam in Ernakulam district of Kerala.
The former principal matron of Army Hospital Research & Referral (an apex quaternary care hospital of the Armed Forces) was appointed after her predecessor major general Elizabeth John retired on 30th April.
With her extensive expertise and her drive to work hard, she is bound to raise the calibre in patient care.
