Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala government on Thursday said it was taking all precautionary steps against H1N1 (swine flu), dengue and other contagious fevers.

Government has issued directions to all government hospitals and health department officials to be vigilant, health minister K.K. Shylaja said in a statement here.

From primary health centres to medical colleges, all hospitals should ensure that medicines and treatment facilities are put in place, the release said.

The directions were issued against the backdrop of reports of increasing cases of H1N1 and other fevers being reported from various parts of the state following the present climatic conditions.
