Kollam: As many as 25 persons were injured when a Super Fast KSRTC bus collided with a tourist bus near Thattamala Jamat mosque on the national highway in Kollam.
The KSRTC bus from Thiruvananthapuram was heading for Ernakulam when the accident happened at 5.45 am.
The driver of the tourist bus was taken out after cutting open the mangled wreckage. Both his legs got fractured. Police say that over-speed had led to the accident. Those who were in the mosque for morning prayers came to the rescue of the accident victims.
The injured were shifted to Kollam district hospital and a private medical college hospital at Mevaram. The traffic on the NH was disrupted for over two hours following the accident.
