Actress attack: producer Anto Joseph, KS Prasad face police grilling

Kochi: The police team probing the actress attack case on Thursday recorded the statements of producer Anto Joseph and mimicry artist K.S. Prasad.

Filmmaker Nadhirshah's friends Hassan Koya and Azees were also summoned to Aluva police club.

Prasad first told the media persons that he was at the police club to meet a friend-officer but later revealed the truth.

Anto's name cropped up in the case soon after the crime as it was revealed that he was the last one to talk to Pulsar Suni over phone on the fateful night.

However, Anto later clarified that it was P.T. Thomas MLA who dialed Suni's number from his phone in the presence of police at filmmaker Lal's house.

The MLA collected the number of Suni from Martin, the driver of the attacked actress, who was taken to custody soon after the incident.

On Thursday, the police also recorded the statement of one Tons, who was a co-prisoner of prime accused Suni. Sources said the police suspected that Suni had shared the details of the alleged conspiracy behind the attack to Tons also. Earlier, it was revealed that Suni disclosed the details of the case to co-prisoner Jinson.

The police team had on Wednesday quizzed Dileep's brother Anoop and actor Dharmajan Bolgatty in connection with the case.

The case, which dates back to February, took a shocking turn recently after the investigators quizzed Dileep and Nadhirshah for 13 hours.

It is learnt that the police have been probing the conspiracy angle in the case which has cast a shadow of suspicion over many, including celebrities.

The Keralite actor, who has acted in several south Indian films, was abducted and allegedly molested in a moving car by Suni and his accomplices. The police are yet to find the motive behind the crime while Suni has alleged that big sharks were behind him.
