Thiruvananthapuram: A 55-year-old worker of the state-run Travancore Titanium Products Limited (TTPL) was killed and another injured after a tank collapsed at the factory's acid neutralization plant near here today, police said.
The deceased was identified as Hareendran, police said.
Though he was rushed to the government medical college hospital here, doctors declared him brought dead.
Another employee, 28-year-old Sarosh, was admitted to the intensive care unit.
Police said investigation was on to ascertain whether it was a case of negligence.
The company is the leading manufacturer of anatase grade titanium dioxide in Thiruvananthapuram.
For about 50 years, TTP was a profit-making PSU under the Government of Kerala. Every year, the company declares a dividend of around 20 per cent.
