Thodupuzha: It appears as if all the efforts put in by the state machinery and rights activist have had little impact on some Kerala youths, who seem to be hell bend on playing the Blue Whale Challenge.

Manorama News accessed a phone conversation between an Idukki youth, who had crossed four levels of the game, and his friend.

The Idukki native was heard saying that once you start the game, you cannot back off. The police have questioned the youth and let him off. He is under the police surveillance. He was asked to write F-57 on his hands using a blade. Among the other chilling tasks given to him, he had to make a shallow cut on his vein. He claimed that he got the link through a WhatsApp group.

More than six Indian children, including two from Kerala, in the age group of 12-19 years were suspected to have taken their lives playing this game within a span of two weeks.

The NCPCR, apex body for child rights, has urged parents and teachers in India to 'keep a watch' on children showing abnormal and erratic behavior due to exposure to 'Blue Whale Challenge'.
