Amit Shah visits temple in Kannur ahead of BJP's Kerala rally

Thaliparamba, Kannur: BJP national president Amit Shah on Tuesday visited the famed Rajarajeswara Temple here ahead of launching the party's state-wide march.

Accompanied by party leaders, Shah arrived at the temple around 10.15 in the morning and spent there for 30 minutes. He also performed special rituals at the temple.

Though it was reported that he would offer prayers at the nearby Aravath temple also, he had to cancel the plan due to time constraints.

BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan, general secretary K. Surendran, Mangaluru MP Nalin Kumar Kateel were among the party leaders who visited the temple along with Shah.

The police had arranged tight security on the temple premises.

Former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and late Tamil Nadu CM J. Jayalalithaa had visited the temple.
