Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has announced public holidays for the year 2018. However, second Saturdays and Sundays do not figure on the public administration department's list.

The holidays:

January 2: Mannam Jayanti

January 26th: Republic Day

February 13: Shivarathri

March 29: Maundy Thursday,

March 30: Good Friday

May 1: International Workers' Day

June 15: Eid-ul-Fitr (Ramadan)

August 15: : Independence Day

August 25: Thiru Onam

August 27: Naalam Onam; Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti

August 28: Ayyankali Jayanti


September 20: Muharram

September 21: Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi

October 2: Gandhi Jayanti

October 18: Mahanavami 18th

October 19: Vijayadasami

November 6: Diwali

November 20: Milad-e-Sherif

December 25: Christmas
