Regular studies pay off for Kerala girl as she tops CBSE class X

Sreelakshmi will be joining the bio-maths stream for class XI

Kochi: Sreelakshmi G of Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya, Thrikkakara, has made Kerala proud by notching the all-India top rank in class X CBSE examinations. Sreelakshmi is attending her medical entrance coaching classes now at Chavara Public School, Palai, and is not available on phone.

Onmanorama caught up with Sreelakshmi's mother Rema, who is an associate professor at Maharaja's College, Ernakulam, to know about the high achiever's secret of success.

“Sreelakshmi has made us proud. I must say that it is her consistent hard work and interest in finishing her lessons up to date that brought her success,” says Rema.

The proud mother also said the top rank was quite unexpected and her daughter was a normal performer. Even though she was consistent in studies, she hadn't expected such a big achievement.

“The teachers at Bhavan's had evaluated all the model examination papers and internal examinations very strictly. This was aimed at inspiring and challenging each student to perform better at the main exams. So, the coaching at the school was also very important in this success,” she added.

Medicine is Sreelakshmi's choice and she will be joining the bio-maths stream for class XI.

Sreelakshmi's father S Gopinathan is a senior government pleader at the High Court.
