Former diplomat BMC Nair dies

BMC Nair's most noted work is Kalika.

Chennai: Former diplomat and writer BMC Nair (Mohana Chandran) died on Friday morning. The 77-year-old, who was undergoing treatment for old-age ailments for long, breathed his last at his residence in Anna Nagar here. He was India's ambassador to Kuwait.

He was born in Perumbavoor in 1941. He had passed MA History with first rank from the Kerala University. A noted writer, he had penned several works such as Kappirikalude Rathri, Himavathi and Velan Chedayan. His most noted work is Kalika.

He is survived by wife Lalitha and two children Madhavi and Lakshmi.
