Actress attack case: Pulsar Suni says no to lie-detector test. What is he hiding?

Kochi: The Kerala police team probing the actress attack case on Saturday sought the permission of the court to conduct lie-detector test on the main accused, Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni.

However, Pulsar Suni's advocate told the court that the accused was not ready to undergo the test. The court has, meanwhile, extended the police custody of Pulsar Suni and other accused, including Vigeesh, by five days. Their custody period ends on March 10.

Police see no larger conspiracy behind attack on actress

Even weeks after the actress was harassed in a moving car in Kochi, the police have not been able to retrieve the phone purportedly used to take her photos. Pulsar Suni and three of his accomplices had forcefully entered the actress' car, while she was on her way to Kochi from Thrissur, and attacked her.

Though the police initially said that it suspected a larger conspiracy, the probe team has not been able to find any evidence to support it. The thugs, who waylaid and tortured the actress, acted on their own behalf, the police seem to believe.

Suni had told his victim on the fateful night that he was hired to harass her. He also said he had specific directions to take her to an apartment in Kochi and drug her if she resisted.

But during police interrogation, Suni said that he only wanted to extort money from the actress by blackmailing her.
