Thiruvananthapuram: Self-financing medical college managements have agreed to part with half of their seats, in which the government would be free to select the students. However, they insist on a more than five-fold increase in fees for 30 percent of these seats. Dental colleges have also asked for a rise management and NRI fees.

For MBBS
* Rs 25,000 for 20 percent of the seats (government quota)
* Rs 10 lakh-Rs 12.5 lakh for 30 percent of seats (government quota)
* Rs 15 lakh-Rs 20 lakh for the 35 percent seats (management quota)
* Rs 20 lakh for seats earmarked for non-resident Indians (NRI quota)
For BDS
* Rs 23,000 for 6 percent seats (government quota)
* Rs 44,000 for 14 percent seats (government quota)
* Rs 3.3 lakh for 30 percent of seats (government quota)
* 10 percent increase from Rs 4.75 lakh for management quota and Rs 5.75 lakh for NRI seats now
