Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet has named M K Sakeer as the new Kerala Public Service Commission chairman. He is to replace Dr K S Radhakrishnan, who is slated to retire on the October 30.
The CPM nominee is presently a member of the PSC and his tenure as a member is to end by January 28, 2017. After the governor issues an official notification in this regard, he will assume office.
Sakeer had been a government pleader for five years and a public prosecutor. He was nominated as a PSC member during the term of the VS government.
His wife, Lisie, is a former vice president of Perumbadappu Panchayat.
